TO WHOM ITS DEVELOPED TO
Dynamonitor is software solution to read and store the Dynagrade* MSR machine grading results for quick overview and later analyse. Enables for sawmill or lumber producer to more carefully analyse the quality outcomes and reject reasons and based on results to take actions to minimize the reject share. With each board that is graded by MSR machine also the more detailed data-string is generated and sent to communication port. Dynamonitor is developed to producers who don’t just settle the grading that machine gives. They want to know why each piece reject is graded and what to be able to minimize the reject share.
HOW DOES IT WORK
Dynamonitor requires one additional low capacity PC running on Windows platform that will be connected with Dynamonitor with RS232-null-modem cable. Open the Dynamonitor and under the settings select the port, the cable is connected to. PC must have COM1 port available. It can be also some undercharged PC that is used for production line steering. Dynamonitor itself requires very few system resources and doet’t slow down the main purpose of the PC. Its still recomended by Romware that some additional machine is used.
FIRST RUN 1-2-3
If you started the DYNAMONITOR first time then you should do as follows:
You’ll see first the language window. Select the suitable language and make it your default language. Next time on program start-up this language will be selected automatically. If you still want to see the language selection window – open File – Settings menu and de-select the option „Don’t show language box on start-up”. Re-start the program.
After selecting the language open the File – Settings menu and insert following:
Suppliers
Spieces
If SQL database available then also info about database
By default no need to change the „connection with Dynagrade” setting, but depending on machine version the settings may vary. Default settings are 2400, E, 7, 1.
Click „Save all”.
Now on the main window you should see all the inserted Supplier and Spieces options in the selection boxes. Basically You have all the set-up for program to work.
SETTING UP THE SQL CONNECTION
Setting up mySQL connection requires some basic knowledge about mySQL. There are many freeware software solutions available on the internet that can be used for managing the mySQL databases. User must setup the database and create the datatable into it. By default the table name is dynaresults and script for creating the mySQL table comes with Your registered copy of Dynamonitor. Script name is dynamonitor.sql which can be found from the root folder of the program. Copy the script into the database manager software and run the query. After database and table is created insert the info into the Dynamonitor settings. Also username and password is required to make the connection. After data is inserted then press the „Check SQL settings” to make the connection. If everything is OK, then corresponding message will be displayed.
START / END PATCH
If all settings are inserted and cable connection is made, then data collecting can start. With each production lot the user must insert all general data about the material – workorder number, spiece, dimensions etc. All this info will be linked with data that is received from MSR machine. Users can see the sorting results – number of pieces sorted, share of reject and also reject reason distribution by error codes. Program creates also chart view based on that data.
After each production lot, if user stops the workorder, program will save all collected data to *.csv file which can be opened directly from Microsoft Excel or any other *.csv compatible program. Filename will be created automatically from date / time and production lot data. Files are saved into the Archive folder that can be accessed by using the menu Patch – Archive folder. File names created automatically with date / time / spice / dimension info.
ANALYSING OVERVIEW OF RESULTS
On run-time the program gives detailed chart based feedback about th grading results and reject shares. Also visible share of each reject reason. Program creates also 500piece “milestones” to help to find patterns of grading results. Total results are compared with first 500 piece and last 500piece.
